The EMS MyBlock series has several major advantages over traditional dry baths. They are the first digital dry baths to include advanced microprocessor controls, timed or continuous operation and a removable hinged lid. In addition, an optional external temperature feedback probe can be positioned directly inside a sample tube, providing real-time control and monitoring of temperature.
MyBlock's transparent lid promotes better temperature uniformity and minimizes stratification in the block by maintaining a warm air jacket layer while reducing energy consumption by minimizing heat loss. The hinged lid can be flipped open or easily removed (lifted off) to accommodate taller tubes.
Universal blocks accept tubes from 0.5 to 2.0 ml and, with just a quick flip to the other side, accomodate 0.2 ml tubes, PCR strips or in the dual block model only a PCR plate. Other blocks are available for tubes up to 50 ml. With 1 Quick-Flip universal block.

Cayman’s Xanthine/Hypoxanthine Assay Kit provides fluorometric and colorimetric methods for measuring xanthine and hypoxanthine in tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants, and biological fluids, such as serum, plasma, and urine.; In the assay, XO catalyzes the conversion of xanthine and hypoxanthine to uric acid and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).; The fluorescence of this compound can be quantified at excitation and emission wavelengths of 535 and 587 nm, respectively.; Alternatively, the absorbance can be measured at 570 nm.; Background signal generated from H2O2 and other interferences found inherently in samples that are not produced by XO in the assay can be corrected by omitting the enzyme in sample background reactions.; When read fluorometrically, this assay has a range of 0.04-5 µM and a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.04 µM.; When read colorimetrically, the range is 0.18-100 µM with a LOD of 0.18 µM.

Order a flexi-block to accommodate multiple size tubes, vials, or cuvettes at once. Flexi-blocks use autoclavable high-density ceramic beads and are available in two sizes—double or triple width. Unskirted PCR plates can be heated in either size flexi-block. Skirted microtiter plates, deep-well plates, and PCR plates can only be incubated in the triple-width version.
